Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information Museum Portraits collects, why we collect it, and how that information is used when you browse the site, upload photos, create an account, or place an order.

Short version

Art Skool LLC, a United States-based company operating Museum Portraits, uses the information needed to generate portraits, process orders, deliver digital files, fulfill print orders, prevent abuse, and support customers. Optional product analytics are handled separately through the site’s consent flow.

What this notice covers

This notice applies to information collected through the Museum Portraits website, the purchase flow, support communications, and related operational tools used by Art Skool LLC to run the service.

It covers information submitted directly by customers, information created during portrait generation and fulfillment, and technical information generated when people use the site.

Information Museum Portraits collects

  • Contact and identity details, such as email address and account credentials if you choose to create an account.
  • Order information, such as selected product format, country, shipping details for print orders, payment status, and provider order references.
  • Uploaded source images, processed preview images, approved portrait outputs, and related image metadata.
  • Technical and usage data, such as device type, browser family, operating system, viewport size bucket, referrer, landing path, and UTM parameters.
  • Support and operations information, such as customer notes, order events, shipment events, and email delivery records.

How information is collected

Some information is provided directly by you when you upload a file, enter checkout details, create an account, or communicate with Museum Portraits.

Some information is collected automatically from the browser and request context, including cookies, device signals, referrer information, and security or diagnostics data generated while the site is used.

How Museum Portraits uses information

  • To create previews and final portrait assets from customer-uploaded images.
  • To process payments, create orders, and provide download or order-access links.
  • To route print fulfillment, shipping, and order-status updates through service providers.
  • To authenticate accounts, reconnect guest orders, and protect customer access to order history.
  • To monitor performance, investigate errors, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve the checkout flow.
  • To respond to customer support questions and maintain internal records tied to an order or account.

Payments, fulfillment, and other processors

Museum Portraits does not store full payment card numbers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe.

Print fulfillment and shipment data are routed to print and logistics providers, including Prodigi, when needed to produce and ship an order.

Transactional email is handled through Resend. Cloud storage and image-processing infrastructure are used to hold uploaded files, previews, and generated outputs.

Analytics, diagnostics, and replay tools

Museum Portraits uses an explicit consent flow for product analytics. The site stores your analytics preference and uses Google Analytics Consent Mode so analytics starts in a denied state until you make a choice.

If you grant consent, the site may store analytics and attribution cookies and send event data to Google Analytics and PostHog so the team can understand landing-page performance and checkout behavior.

Museum Portraits also uses error monitoring and diagnostics tooling, including Sentry, to capture crashes, technical context, and limited replay data needed to investigate problems. Those tools help keep the service stable and secure.

Images and generated artwork

Customer uploads are stored in cloud storage and processed into browser-safe preview variants so the customer and the Museum Portraits team can review them during the workflow.

If you remove an upload before it is linked to a job, the current product deletes the original file and its generated preview variants. Once an upload is attached to a portrait job or order, Museum Portraits may keep it as part of the order record, support history, and asset library unless deletion is required by law or a later retention policy.

Retention

Museum Portraits keeps information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the service, preserve order history, deliver downloads, provide support, enforce policies, and comply with legal or accounting obligations.

Different categories of data may be retained for different periods. Order records, fulfillment records, email logs, and generated assets may remain available after checkout so customers can revisit order history and eligible downloads.

How information is shared

Museum Portraits shares information with service providers only as needed to run the product. That can include hosting providers, payment processors, fulfillment partners, shipping-related vendors, analytics providers, email providers, and security or monitoring vendors.

Museum Portraits may also disclose information when required to comply with law, enforce agreements, protect customers, or prevent fraud, abuse, or technical misuse.

Your choices

  • You can decline optional analytics when the site presents the consent banner.
  • You can later change that preference from the Privacy Choices page.
  • You can remove certain uploads yourself before they become part of a portrait job.
  • You can stop using the service at any time and choose whether to create an account or check out as a guest.
  • You can contact Museum Portraits to request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available under applicable law.

Children

Museum Portraits is not intended for children to use on their own. The service should only be used by adults or by people using it with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Changes to this notice

Museum Portraits may update this notice as the product, vendors, or legal requirements evolve. If that happens, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
